yes i also found out the IDA website through my boss. all are panicking if URA revamp did not comply to IDA so call standards.
so i run through IDA and found out they din even meet the 800by600 requirement. All the horizontal scrollbars starts to come in. Where is the 760pixel wide they set for all the agencies? And to my surprise, the vendor did not make it a flexible layout...
Come to my mind and agree with Vanessa, the vendors so call know-how css are apply to fonts. I doubt they know how to do fluid layout. Should send the vendors back to school :)

Just got wind of IDA's revamp: http://www.ida.gov.sg/
My initial feedback:
1) They're still using tables and font tags.
2) Visually, it's more text-heavy than the previous site.
3) Navigation wise, it feels more well-organised than the previous site. The
previous site redirected to something like www.ida.gov.sg/marketing ... I
know that their Mktg Dept handled the website but the rest of the world
didn't need to be redirected to the Marketing folder.
4) If you type the URL without the 'www', you can't access the site.
5) They seemed to have complied with the Govt Web Interface Standards in
terms of layout, which is good since they're the ones who wrote it :)

I wrote in to the Feedback Unit 2 years ago about how most Govt websites
can't be accessed without a 'www'. I got an automated reply. Wrote in to the
new REACH and they said they'd note my comments. No changes yet...
For my own agency I specially requested all our web addresses to work, with
or without the 'www'. Have to make this 'www' issue very clear when
registering new domain names as it doesn't always occur to our IT people.

i noticed the WAI sticker at the bottom left, claiming that they have 'A'
compliance level for accessibility.
ol' cynical me couldn't resist verifying:
http://www.contentquality.com/mynewtester/cynthia.exe?rptmode=2&url1=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ida.gov.sg%2Fhome%2Findex.aspx
they fail.
incidentally, MCYS (http://app.mcys.gov.sg/web/home_main.asp) claims to be
AAA-compliant.
here's the results:
http://www.contentquality.com/mynewtester/cynthia.exe?rptmode=2&url1=http%3A%2F%2Fapp.mcys.gov.sg%2Fweb%2Fhome_main.asp
they fail also.
MCYS passes most of the automated checks, but they fail spectacularly for
manual checkpoints, especially with their use of table-based layout.
we should write in to comprain.

Yea, I think we should too.
Anyway, it would not be that hard to replicate that table based site
into a proper html/css-based too, I think (technically, not in term of
entire site conversion).
Oh, and let them know it's time to loose the best viewed message
already, in case someone actually mails in. ;)

A few years ago, we met with the company that made MCYS's website
AAA-accessible. They estimated how much it would cost to make our
organisation's website accessible as well. I recall the amount was a six or
seven-figure sum. We said forget it! Their prices weren't accessible :P
