Hail to the chief. Web Standards hits mainstream media big time with a BusinessWeek interview with Jeffrey Zeldman.
Sometimes, a worthy movement takes time to gain momentum. Then it reaches the tipping point. Hopefully, this type of publicity will bring us closer to it.
It might even help designers who aren’t named Jeffrey Zeldman as they struggle to explain the benefits of web standards to their bosses or clients. At the least, its publication in Business Week will command some business people’s attention, and perhaps their respect.
One article alone will not lead to a drastic demand for web standards, but it could prompt decision makers to find out more about it. This is when web standards advocates should take the opportunity to explain the business value of web standards in a non-technical manner. Sure, it isn’t a glamorous subject and will probably never be. But neither is it a superficial cause.
May the wheel, and all others like it, keep on spinning.

Comments
Advocating webstandards to clients have always been difficult. Even when i am learning, the professors dont really know about standards based design.
Hope this interview gets business attention and educate a few. Thanks to Zeldman
