Apple.com Redux

Posted by Lucian on Tuesday, June 12, 2007

Apple.com freshens up and finally does away with the use of tables for layout. They’ve also made great use of Scriptaculous. I wouldn’t say it is ground-breaking web design, but definitely very tastefully done, and keeping in line with the established site branding.

Old navigation:

New navigation:

Apart from updating its looks, Apple has also gone widescreen, moving away from being formatted for 800 x 600 to cater for the majority who have no problems with 1024px wide sites.

Agreed. It’s not ground breaking but they definitely did a great job in keeping to their clean and effective design. Still pretty much refreshing.

Brilliant use of Scriptaculous for sure.
