A cheaper, faster broadband network

Posted by Vanessa on Saturday, March 4, 2006

The Business Times reports, on its front page today, that the Government intends to launch a new national broadband network, bringing ‘cheaper and faster internet access to more people’. It could be partly funded by public money.

The target is 85% of Singapore households by 2015. Currently, the penetration rate is only 52% (surprise, surprise).

More details will be announced by IDA before the end of March.
